We began works today on our latest project in Bristol. The new build development in the grounds of Butler House, St. George, is part of Bristol City Council’s New Build Housing programme which began in March 2015. The programme is a two year initiative to build approximately 100 new properties in the city to bolster the council’s housing stock. It’s our first project for Oxford based ART Contracts who have been appointed by the Council as the Principal Contractor.
The development consists of two x two bed bungalows, one four bed house and three x three bed houses. They are being built on the site of garages in the grounds of Butler House, a Bristol City Council sheltered housing scheme. It’s one of seven developments across the city to be built in the first phase of the New Build Housing programme and it’s due to be completed in the next few months.
Our site-supervisor Nick Jones is managing the carpentry works on the ground. Our works include the installation of eco-floor joists and chipboard floors, construction of truss roofs and all aspects of first, second and final fixes.
